WXBH Streaming
Streaming with Windows Media Player:
- Got to http://xiph.org/dshow/
- Download the appropriate install for your system(most users will want to use 'Download win32 installer')
- Once the download has completed, double-click on the file to run the install. Choose the default settings on each screen
- Click on 'Listen Now' in the menu on the left and it should open Windows Media Player automatically and start playing the stream.
Streaming With VLC:
VLC is an open source player with superior sound and many powerful features. It's a little clunky to set up your station presents, but worth the trouble!
- Download and install VLC from: http://www.videolan.org/vlc/
- Run the program and add WXBH and any other stations to the Media Library (NOT to the playlist or to bookmarks!):
- Display the playlist window (press Ctrl-L or click on the 'show playlist button).
- In the left column of the playlist window, highlight the Media Library.
- To add WXBH to the library:
- Click the 'plus' button at the bottom of the screen.
- From the drop-down menu, select "Advanced open"
- From the Open Media panel, select the "Network" tab
- In the Address field, enter: http://wxbh.org:8000/stream.ogg
- Click on the "Enqueue" button at the bottom
Don't be tempted to add items to the play list or the bookmarks. They will be lost when you close the program. Only the Media Library is retained!
